Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy XL, 2003 GMC Envoy, 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, and 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT:
If replacing the condenser, add the refrigerant oil to the condenser. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CAPACITIES
for the capacity information.
- Install the condenser to the radiator.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the retaining screws to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- Install the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (BODY VIN CODE 6) or RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (BODY VIN TYPE 3) in Engine Cooling.
- Connect the evaporator tube (4) to the condenser (3).
- Install the retaining nut to the evaporator tube (4) at the condenser (3).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Connect the compressor discharge hose (2) to the condenser (4).
- Install the retaining nut (1) to the compressor discharge hose (2) at the condenser (4).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
- Install the upper radiator baffle. Refer to AIR INTAKE BAFFLE REPLACEMENT - RADIATOR in Engine Cooling.
- Leak test the fittings of the components using the J39400-A.
