Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Support the rear axle.
- Remove the shock absorber upper mounting bolt.
- Remove the shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
- Remove the shock absorber from the vehicle.
NOTE:
The rear axle must not be allowed to hang freely while servicing rear suspension components. Not supporting the rear axle will result in damage to the upper control arm and/or to the air suspension components.
