Park Brake Shoe Inspection

- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Suspension.
- Remove the rear brake caliper and bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement - Rear in Disc Brakes.
- Remove the rear brake rotor.
- Inspect the park brake shoe and lining and replace if any of the following conditions are found:
- Excessive wear indicated by the park brake lining being worn down to the shoe
- Brake lining cracking
- Oil or fluid contamination of the brake lining
- Adjust the park brake shoe. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
- Install the rear brake rotor.
- Install the rear brake caliper and bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement - Rear in Disc Brakes.
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Suspension.
- Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
