Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the stoplamp switch from the brake pedal. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Fig 1: Identifying Brake Pedal Pivot Bolt

  4. Remove the brake pedal pivot bolt and discard the bolt.
  5. Remove the brake pedal.
  6. Inspect the brake pedal pivot bushing for damage or wear.
