Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (LL8) in Automatic Transmission - 4L60-E/4L65-E.
  2. Remove the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement  .
  3. IMPORTANT: Do not damage the crankshaft or seal bore.

  4. Pry the crankshaft rear oil seal out of the rear oil seal housing using a suitable tool.
