Piston, Connecting Rod, And Bearing Removal: Removal

- Mark the piston with the number of the cylinder from which the piston is being removed.
- Mark the connecting rod and the connecting rod cap with the cylinder position. Also mark the orientation. This will ensure the caps and connecting rods are re-assembled properly.
- Remove the connecting rod bolts.
- Remove the connecting rod cap and bearing half.
- Install J 41556 on the connecting rod. See Special Tools and Equipment .
- Remove the connecting rod and piston assembly. Push out the assembly.
