Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (Rainier) , Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (Bravada) , Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (Envoy, Envoy XUV)  or Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (TrailBlazer) .
  2. Remove the bolts (1) that retain the fascia support rods (2) to the impact bar (5).

  3. Remove the fascia support rods from the impact bar.
  4. Remove the bolts (1) that retain the impact bar to the frame (2).

  5. Remove the impact bar (3) from the frame.
  6. Remove the tow hooks from the impact bar. Refer to Tow Hook Replacement - Front (Chevrolet (X88) ONLY) in Frame and Underbody.
