Installation Procedure

  1. Install the J 45236  on the front output shaft.

  3. Align the front output shaft seal on the J 45236-2 (1).
  4. Using the J 45236-1 (2), install the front output shaft seal.
  5. Remove the J 45236-1 and the J 45236-2.

  7. Install the dust shield on the front output shaft.
  8. Install the front propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement - Front in Propeller Shaft.
  9. Inspect the transfer case fluid level. Refer to Transfer Case Fluid Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Rainier, Bravada)  or Transfer Case Fluid Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV)  .
  10. Install the fuel tank shield, if equipped. Refer to Fuel Tank Shield Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy) or Fuel Tank Shield Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) in Frame and Underbody.
  11. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
