Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Fig 1: Removing/Installing Front Propeller Shaft

  3. Remove the front propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement - Front in Propeller Shaft.

  5. Remove the dust shield from the front output shaft.

  7. Lightly tap the screw driver around the edge of the front output shaft seal.

  9. Pry the front out shaft seal from the transfer case.

  11. Remove the front output shaft seal from the transfer case.
