Installation Procedure

Apply pipe sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the drain plug threads.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the drain plug.
Tighten: Tighten the drain plug to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
Fill the transfer case with the proper fluid. Refer to Capacities - Approximate Fluid .

Apply pipe sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the fill plug threads.
Install the fill plug.
Tighten: Tighten the fill plug to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
