Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the wiper motor (1) to the endgate (2).
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the 2 bolts retaining the motor to the endgate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  4. Install the nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  5. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  6. Install the rear endgate window. Refer to Window Replacement - Endgate in Body Rear End.
  7. Install the interior trim panel to the endgate. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate (Envoy XUV) in Body Rear End.

  9. Install the spacer (2) on the wiper motor pivot shaft (3).

  11. Install the wiper arm (3). Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer, Envoy)  or Wiper Arm Replacement - Rear (XUV) .
  12. Inspect the rear wiper system.
