Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the wiper arm blade (3) to the wiper arm (1), if removed. Refer to Wiper Arm Blade Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer, Envoy)  or Wiper Arm Blade Replacement - Rear (XUV) .
  2. Turn the ignition to the RUN position, engine OFF.
  3. Turn the wiper switch to position 3, full speed.
  4. Locate and remove the rear wiper fuse, fuse number 9, located under the LH rear seat.
  5. Turn the wiper switch to the OFF position.
  6. Reinstall the fuse in the fuse block number 9 position.
  7. Turn the ignition to the LOCK position.
  8. Install the washer hose end fitting and position the washer hose clockwise around the pivot shaft and connect to the elbow.
  9. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  10. Install the rear wiper arm. Align the park finger of the arm into the park pocket in applique.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 6-10 N.m (55-89 lb in).

  12. Secure the wiper arm nut cover.
  13. Turn the vehicle to the RUN position, engine OFF.
  14. IMPORTANT: Do not turn on or cycle the rear wiper after step 7 or until the wiper arm nut is fully torqued. If vehicle is turned on, start over at step 2.
  15. Cycle the rear wiper and verify the park location of the wiper arm into the applique park pocket.
  16. Inspect the operation of the endgate window.
