1 Did you perform the Theft Deterrent Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Theft Deterrent

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Observe the Reconfigurable Display on the instrument panel cluster (IPC) during the display test.
Does the Reconfigurable Display illuminate during the display test?
Go to Theft Systems Description and Operation  and Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) Description and Operation  Go to Step 3 
3 Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement In Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 4  -
4 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 2
