Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Swing the endgate open.
  2. Remove the regulator bolt access plugs (3).

  3. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate (Envoy XUV) .
  4. Remove the endgate inner panel reinforcement. Refer to Reinforcement Inner Panel Replacement - Endgate .
  5. Remove the endgate window. Refer to Window Replacement - Endgate .
  6. Remove the bolt (3) retaining the regulator to the endgate.
  7. Loosen the nuts (1) retaining the regulator rails to the endgate.
  8. Remove the regulator by sliding the regulator side rails up and out of the keyhole slots (2) in the gate.

  10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the window regulator.
  11. Remove the regulator assembly from the endgate out the access hole.
