Installation Procedure

  1. Install the upper striker (1) and shim, if equipped, to the vehicle.
  2. Install the nuts (4) retaining the upper striker to the vehicle.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts only until the striker will not rock up and down, but can slide up and down.

  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Close the endgate so that it is fully latched.

    Tighten:  Tighten the upper striker nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the sealing strip (1) covering the striker access hole.
  7. Install the left tail lamp assembly. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
