Installation Procedure

  1. Code the new lock cylinder. Refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding in General Information.
  2. Fig 1: Installing Endgate Lock Cylinder

  3. Install the lock cylinder to the vehicle.
  4. Press the lock cylinder into the license plate pocket until the retainers (3) are fully seated in the slots (1) of the license plate pocket.
  5. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the lock cylinder.
  6. Install the inner panel reinforcement. Refer to Reinforcement Inner Panel Replacement - Endgate .
  7. Install the inner trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate (Envoy XUV) .
