Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the license plate pocket to the endgate.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the nuts retaining the license plate pocket to the endgate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the license plate pocket nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the main license plate pocket electrical connector (1).
  5. Connect the electrical connector to the swing function handle (2).
  6. Install the license plate pocket wiring harness retainers to the endgate.
  7. Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Endgate .
  8. Install the inner reinforcement. Refer to Reinforcement Inner Panel Replacement - Endgate .
  9. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate (Envoy XUV) .
