Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the liftgate handle to the license plate pocket. Refer to Handle Replacement - Liftgate .

  2. Install the panel to the liftgate.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the screws that retain the panel to the liftgate, starting with the bottom center screw first.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the bellcrank rod to the outside door release handle.
  5. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  6. Install the license pocket lamps. Refer to License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
