Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the latch assembly to the latch bracket.

    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the screws retaining the latch assembly to the latch bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the latch screws to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the latch assembly.

  4. Install the latch bracket assembly to the endgate.
  5. Install the bolts retaining the latch assembly bracket to the endgate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the latch bracket bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
