Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Panel Replacement - Inner .
  2. Open the midgate.

  4. Lift the midgate sliding hinge filler panel, slide the retaining clips (1) up to secure the sliding panel.
  5. Remove the rivets retaining the sliding panel hinge to the midgate assembly using a drill and 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit.
  6. Remove the sliding hinge panel assembly from the midgate.

  7. Remove the loose rivets from inside the midgate assembly to prevent any rattles.
