Endgate Power Window Operation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The endgate power window is controlled by the endgate key cylinder, an RFA signal from the 4th button of the key fob or a class 2 functional message from the power roof module.

When the endgate key cylinder is rotated clockwise, the endgate module provides 12 volts to the endgate window regulator down signal circuit, driving the endgate power window in the down direction. When the endgate key cylinder is rotated counterclockwise, the endgate module provides 12 volts to the endgate window regulator up signal circuit, driving the endgate power window in the up direction.

When the 4th button of the key fob is pressed twice, the endgate module provides 12 volts to the endgate window regulator down signal circuit, driving the endgate power window in the express down direction.

When the endgate window switch, the endgate window interior emergency switch or the power roof down switch has been activated, the power roof module sends a class 2 functional message to the endgate module to provide 12 volts to the endgate window regulator signal circuits, driving the endgate power window in the requested direction.
