Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT:
Perform the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure whenever the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor is removed or replaced.
- Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (4.2L Engine) or Starter Motor Replacement (5.3L Engine) in Engine Electrical.
- Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
- Clean the area around the CKP sensor before removal in order to avoid debris from entering the engine.
- Remove the CKP sensor bolt.
- Remove the CKP sensor.
