Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushions. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) in Seats.
  3. Remove the communication interface module. Refer to Communication Interface Module Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Communication Interface Module Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) in Cellular Communication.
  4. Remove the navigation control processor bracket. Refer to Navigation Control Processor Bracket Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Navigation Control Processor Bracket Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) in Cellular Communication.
  5. Remove the seat back, left and right side. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Seat Back Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) in Seats.
  6. Remove the front bucket seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
  7. Remove the front door sill plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front .
  8. Remove the rear door sill plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) .
  9. Remove the lift gate door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Liftgate .
  10. Remove the center pillar trim panels. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar .
  11. Remove the lower rear quarter trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  & Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL)  & Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  12. Remove the tool kit carrier.
  13. Remove the bussed electrical center junction block from the bussed electrical center base, and the bussed electrical center base from the floor panel studs. Refer to Rear Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.
  14. Remove the child restraint tether anchors. Refer to Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) in Seat Belts.
  15. Remove the bussed electrical center base and communication interface module electrical connectors through the pass through holes in the carpet.
  16. Remove the floor console to the floor console carrier. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  18. Remove the four nuts retaining the rear of the floor console bracket to the floor weld studs.
  19. Raise the rear portion of the floor console bracket and remove the carpet from underneath the console bracket.

  21. Remove the carpet from the vehicle.
