Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

    CAUTION: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
  1. Position the carpet to the floor panel.

  3. Raise the rear portion of the floor console bracket and slide the carpet underneath the console bracket.
  4. Position the rear carpet over the edge of the front carpet.
  5. Align the holes in the carpet to the seat studs on the floor panel.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the four nuts retaining the rear of the floor console bracket to the floor weld studs.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  8. Feed the bussed electrical center base and the communication interface module electrical connectors through the pass through holes in the carpet.
  9. Install the floor console Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Install the child restraint tether anchors. Refer to Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) in Seat Belts.
  11. Install the bussed electrical center. Refer to Rear Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.
  12. Install the tool kit carrier.
  13. Install the 3 tool carrier nuts to the floor studs.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

  14. Install the lower rear quarter trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  and Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) , or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL)  and Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  15. Install the center pillar trim panels. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar .
  16. Install the lift gate door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Liftgate .
  17. Install the rear door sill plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) .
  18. Install the front door sill plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front .
  19. Install the front bucket seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
  20. Instal the seat back, right and left side. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Seat Back Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) .
  21. Install the navigation control processor bracket to the floor panel. Refer toNavigation Control Processor Bracket Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Navigation Control Processor Bracket Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) in Cellular Communication.
  22. Install the rear seat cushions. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) in Seats.
  23. Install the communication interface module. Refer to Communication Interface Module Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Communication Interface Module Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) in Cellular Communication.
  24. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
