Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

    CAUTION: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
  1. Position the carpet to the floor panel.

  3. Raise the rear portion of the floor console bracket and slide the carpet underneath the console bracket.
  4. Position the rear carpet over the edge of the front carpet.
  5. Align the holes in the carpet to the seat studs on the floor panel.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the four nuts (2) retaining the rear of the floor console bracket to the floor weld studs.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  8. Feed the bussed electrical center base and the communication interface module electrical connectors through the pass through holes in the carpet.
  9. Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Install the center pillar trim panels. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar .
  11. Install the front side door sill plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Front .
  12. Pass the communication interface module electrical connectors through the small hole in the carpet.
  13. Pass the body electrical block electrical connectors through the small hole in the carpet.
  14. Install the body electrical block. Refer to Rear Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

  16. Install the carpet ensuring that the carpet hooks over the left wheelhouse panel stud.

  18. Install the nut (1) securing the stowage jack carrier to the wheelhouse panel.
  19. Install the right rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  20. Install the left rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  21. Install the left/right rear body side trim rear window garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Body Side Window - Rear (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  22. Install the left/right front body side window garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Body Side Window - Front (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  23. Install the lift gate door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Liftgate .
  24. Install the cargo tie-down loops and secure the loops with the tie-down bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  25. Install the rear side door sill plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) .
  26. Install the second row seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) in Seats.
  27. Install the third row seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Rear No. 2 in Seats.
  28. Install the luggage/cargo shade assembly, if equipped.
  29. Install the cargo net, if equipped.
  30. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
