Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Savana Special, 2002 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2002 GMC Savana, and 2002 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The most likely cause of this DTC is an improperly operating engine coolant system and thermostat. Diagnose thermostat to verify proper cooling system and thermostat operation.

A fault not present indicates the condition that caused the DTC to set is intermittent and not currently present. See INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If any additional DTCs were stored, proceed to the applicable DTC. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  .
