Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  3. Remove the speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Rear Door in Entertainment.
  4. Disconnect the regulator motor electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the door latch assembly electrical connector.
  6. Remove the second pillar trim. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar in Interior Trim.

  8. From the inside of the door, release the rubber conduit retainer from the door by releasing the retaining tabs.
  9. Using the pillar access hole, remove the door harness connector retainer from the second pillar by releasing the retaining tabs.
  10. Disconnect the 6-way and the 8-way electrical connectors from the door wire harness connector.

  12. Note the routing of the wire harness and release the wire harness attachments from the door.
  13. Remove the wire harness from the door.
