Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If installing a new trim plate, perform the following steps:
    1. If equipped, install the cigar lighter or 12-volt power supply outlets. Refer to Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement - 12 Volt in Power Outlets.
    2. Install the rear windshield wiper switch. Refer to Wiper/Washer Switch Replacement - Rear in Wiper/Washer Systems.
    3. If equipped, install the transfer case shift control switch. Refer to Transfer Case Shift Control Switch Replacement (GMC, Buick) or Transfer Case Shift Control Switch Replacement (Chevrolet) .

  3. Connect the electrical connectors as necessary.
  4. Install the trim plate to the IP. Ensure that all of the retaining clips are properly seated.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the lower trim plate retaining screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  7. Install the center closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Lower (GMC/Chevrolet) .
  8. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement .
