Removal (8.1L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Loosen retaining bolt on intake manifold sight shield at top of engine. Remove intake manifold sight shield from top of engine. Remove intake manifold sight shield bracket nuts and bracket. Loosen hose clamps on both ends of air inlet tube. See Figure.
  2. Remove upper radiator hose clip from air duct. Remove air duct. Disconnect Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) motor harness connector. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor harness connector. Remove throttle body mounting nuts. Remove throttle body. Remove throttle body flange gasket and discard.
