Removal (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L Without Electronic Throttle Control)

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system into suitable container. Loosen retaining bolt on intake manifold sight shield at top of engine. See Figure. Remove intake manifold sight shield from top of engine.
- Loosen hose clamp at outlet side of MAF sensor. Loosen air inlet tube hose clamp at throttle body. Remove radiator inlet hose clip from air inlet tube. Remove air inlet tube. Disconnect accelerator control cable from throttle body. Disconnect cruise control cable from throttle body (if equipped).
- Disconnect vacuum hose at throttle body. Disconnect harness connectors from Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Disconnect coolant hose from throttle body.
- Disconnect coolant hose from vapor vent pipe. Remove throttle body mounting nuts. Remove throttle body. Remove throttle body flange gasket and discard.
