Removal (Rear Tank On Dual Tank Models)

- Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Drain as much fuel as possible through fuel filler opening using a hand-operated pump or equivalent. Lower and remove spare wheel/tire. Raise and support vehicle. Remove spare tire rear crossmember.
- Disconnect fuel feed and return line fittings near front of rear fuel tank. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS . Disconnect EVAP pipe near front of fuel tank. Cap fuel and EVAP lines to prevent possible fuel system contamination.
- Disconnect fuel sending unit and fuel pressure sensor harness connectors. Disconnect fuel fill pipe ground strap. Loosen fuel fill pipe hose clamp. Disconnect fuel fill hose at rear fuel tank. support rear fuel tank. Remove rear fuel tank strap bolts. Remove rear fuel tank straps. Remove rear fuel tank.
