Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the block base to the floor studs.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the block base retaining nuts to the floor studs.

    Tighten:  Tighten the block base retaining nuts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

  4. Connect the console harness connector to the block base.
  5. Connect the headliner harness connector (2) to the block base.

  6. Connect the body wiring harness connector (1) to the block base.
  7. Connect the mobile telephone harness connector (1) to the junction block.

  8. Connect the instrument panel harness connector (1) to the block base.

  9. Install the junction block to the block base.

    Ensure that the retaining tabs are fully seated.

  10. Install the 3 bolts (1) that retain the junction block to the block base.

    Tighten:  Tighten the 3 bolts to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).

  11. Install the BCM to the rear electrical center. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  12. Install the battery feed terminal nut (2) to the junction block.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery feed terminal nut to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

  13. Install the rear electrical center cover.

  14. If replacing the rear electrical center on a Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy or Oldsmobile Bravada, position the left second row seat to a passenger position.
  15. If replacing the rear electrical center on a Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT or GMC Envoy XL, install the left second row seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) in Seats.
  16. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
