Removal Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove the 3 seat switch bezel screws. Refer to Seat Switch Bezel Replacement .
- Remove the 4 nuts that retain the seat pan to the seat adjuster assembly.
- Remove the clip from the front outboard seat pan stud, if equipped. Discard the clip.
- Release the J strips (1,3) on each side of the seat cushion.
- Release the front/rear J strips (2,4).
- Remove the SIR electrical harness (2) from the seat pan.
- Remove the seat electrical harness from the seat pan.
- Remove the wire harness fasteners from the seat pan.
- Disconnect the seat cushion heater electrical connector, if equipped.
- Separate the hook and loop retaining strips.
- Remove the hog rings (1) from the bottom rear side of the cover.
- Remove the 11 hog rings from the top side of the cover.
- Remove the seat cushion trim cover and pad from the seat frame.
- Remove the seat module retaining screw, if equipped.
- Remove the seat module, if equipped.
- Remove the seat cover from the seat cushion.
- Remove the seat cushion from the seat pan.
IMPORTANT:
When separating the seat cover hook and loop retaining strips, do not pull the adhesive-backed strip from the seat pad.
