Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the hinge bracket to the seat back frame.
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Hinge Bracket Bolts

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the hinge bracket to the seat back frame with 2 bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the seat back hinge bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  4. Install the latch bracket to the hinge bracket with 2 bolts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the seat back hinge bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  6. Install the latch release cables (1) to the latch release mechanism, located at the bottom of the seat back frame.
  7. Install the head restraint release cable (2) the left hand hinge bracket.
  8. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada)  or Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Rear No. 1 (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV) .
