Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Install the exhaust manifold pipe seal(s).
Raise the catalytic converter or exhaust manifold pipe using the adjustable jackstands.
Install the exhaust hanger mounting bracket bolts.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
Install the left exhaust manifold pipe nuts.
Tighten:
- Tighten the transmission bolts to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- Tighten the exhaust pipe hanger bracket bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe nuts to 50 N.m (39 lb ft).

Install the right exhaust manifold pipe nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (39 lb ft).

Connect the oxygen sensor electrical connector (1).
Connect the CPA retainer.
Remove the adjustable jackstands from catalytic converter or exhaust manifold pipe.

Install the oil pan skid plate and bolts, if necessary.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Install the engine shield and bolts, if necessary.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle.
