Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: When installing a new hose assembly add 30 ml (1.0 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system.
  1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
    2. Fig 1: Inlet Tube, Compressor, Suction Line, Bolts And Nuts

    IMPORTANT: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the refrigeration system.
  2. Remove the bolt (11) and the condenser inlet tube (12) from the condenser.
  3. Remove the bolt (7) and the compressor hose assembly from the compressor (6).
  4. Remove the 2 nuts (2) and the hose brackets from the vehicle.
  5. Remove the suction line (3) from the evaporator tube.
  6. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
