Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement .
  2. Fig 1: Wheel Hub Components

  3. Use snap ring pliers in order to remove the wheel bearing retainer (1).
  4. Place a bearing driver collar on the inside end of the hub (6).
  5. Use a press in order to remove the hub from the wheel bearing (11).

    Press from the inside end of the hub toward the outside of the hub.

  6. Remove the 3 bolts (4,5,7) and the brake shield (3) from the knuckle.
  7. Use a press and a split plate in order to remove the bearing outside inner race from the hub.
  8. Place a bearing driver collar on the bearing outside outer race.
  9. Use a press in order to remove the bearing from the knuckle.

    Press from the outside of the knuckle toward the inside of the knuckle.
