Installation Procedure

- Place a bearing driver collar on the inside outer race of a NEW wheel bearing (11).
- Use a press in order to install the bearing into the knuckle (2).
Press from the inside of the knuckle toward the outside of the knuckle.
- Install the brake shield (3) to the knuckle.
- Install the 3 bolts (4,5,7) that retain the brake shield to the knuckle.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 8.3 N.m (73.46 lb in).
- Place the outside end of the hub (6) on a press support plate.
Verify the weight of the hub is on the outside end of the hub and not on the wheel studs.
- Place the knuckle and the bearing on the hub.
- Place a bearing driver collar on the bearing inside inner race.
- Use a press in order to install the hub to the knuckle.
Press from the inside of the bearing toward the outside of the hub.
- Use snap ring pliers in order to install the wheel bearing retainer (1).
- Install the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement .
