Installation Procedure

- Verify the steering rack does not have grease or foreign material in the ventilation hole.
- Install the boot to the groove in the steering gear (3).
- Install the boot clamp (2) in order to retain the boot to the gear.
- Verify the boot is not twisted, dented, or improperly folded.
- Install the boot clamp (2) in order to retain the boot to the inner tie rod.
- Install the outer tie rod. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .
