Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

NOTE: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the pipe fitting (2) and the gear inlet hose (5) to the pump.
Tighten: Tighten the pipe fitting to 44 N.m (32.5 lb ft).
Install the bolt (3).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N.m (69.04 lb in).
Install the pipe fitting (6) and the gear inlet hose to the steering gear.
Tighten: Tighten the pipe fitting to 25 N.m (18.4 lb ft).
Install the pipe fitting (7) to the steering gear.
Tighten: Tighten the pipe fitting to 25 N.m (18.4 lb ft).
Install the end of the gear outlet hose (9) to the cooling pipe.
Install the hose clamp in order to retain the hose to the pipe.
Install the bolt (4) in order to retain the hose to the steering gear.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N.m (69.04 lb in).

Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .

Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
