Removal Procedure

- Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD) or Brake Shoe Replacement (AWD) .
- Use brake parts cleaner, GM P/N 12346139, or equivalent, in order to clean the wheel cylinder and the brake pipe.
- Place a container below the backing plate in order to catch the brake fluid.
- Remove the brake pipe (1) from the back of the wheel cylinder.
- Remove the cap from the bleeder valve.
- Remove the bleeder valve.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the wheel cylinder (6).
