Installation Procedure

  1. Install the wheel cylinder (6) to the backing plate.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the 2 bolts in order to retain the wheel cylinder to the backing plate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (88.5 lb in).

  4. Install the brake pipe fitting to the wheel cylinder.

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 15 N.m (11.1 lb ft).

  5. Install the bleeder valve.
  6. Install the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD)  or Brake Shoe Replacement (AWD) .
  7. Bleed the brakes and tighten the bleeder valve. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding in Hydraulic Brakes.
  8. Install the cap to the bleeder valve.
