Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Inspection

- Visually inspect the adjuster spring (23) for the following:
- Excessive corrosion
- Excessive stretching
- Broken hook ends
- Twisting or binding
- Missing
- Visually inspect the adjuster actuator lever (24) for the following conditions:
- Bent
- Broken
- Missing
- Broken spring attachment tab
- Visually inspect the adjuster (7,9,10) for the following conditions:
- Excessive corrosion
- Broken
- Binding
- Missing
- Replace the drum brake adjusting hardware if necessary. Refer to Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Replacement .
