Installation Procedure

- Install the brake pads and the hardware to the caliper (10). Refer to Brake Pads Replacement - Rear .
- Install the caliper to the vehicle.
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the caliper slide pins (2,9) and to the caliper boots (3,6,7).
- Install the slide pins and the boots to the caliper.
- Install the caliper bolts (1,8).
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 46.6 N.m (34.37 lb ft).
- Install a NEW washer to the flexible hose lock hole in the caliper.
- Install the brake hose to the caliper.
- Install the brake hose fitting (2).
Tighten: Tighten the fitting to 29 N.m (21.4 lb ft).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- With the engine OFF, gradually apply and release the brake pedal several times in order to position the caliper pistons and the brake pads.
- Fill the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling in Hydraulic Brakes.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding in Hydraulic Brakes.
