Assembly Procedure

- Install the bleeder valve (5) to the caliper.
Tighten: Tighten the bleeder valve to 8.3 N.m (73.46 lb in).
- Install the bleeder valve cap (4).
- Lubricate the caliper bore and the NEW set ring (11) with Delco Supreme 11 brake fluid, GM P/N 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667), or an equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid.
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the NEW piston seal (14).
- Install the piston seal into the caliper bore. Verify the seal is not twisted.
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the caliper piston (13).
- Install the piston into the caliper bore.
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the NEW piston boot (12).
- Install the piston boot to the grooves on the piston.
- Install the piston boot to the grooves on the caliper housing.
- Install the NEW set ring to the caliper housing.
- Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the slide pins (2,9) and the slide pin boots (3,6,7).
- Install the slide pins and the slide pin boots to the caliper housing.
- Install the caliper to the vehicle. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement - Rear .
