Assembly Procedure

Wash the new internal parts with clean brake fluid.
Place the master cylinder in a vise.
Install the following components into the master cylinder:
1. The secondary piston and spring (12)
2. The primary piston and spring (11)
3. The piston guide (10)
4. The O-ring (9)
5. The cylinder cup (8)
6. The plate (7)
7. The snap ring (6)
8. The O-ring (5)

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Push the piston into the cylinder and install the gasket (14) and the piston stopper bolt (13).
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88.5 lb in).
Wash the grommets in brake fluid.
Install the 2 grommets (2,3).
Remove the master cylinder from the vise.
Install the master cylinder to the vehicle. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement (Non-ABS) or Master Cylinder Replacement (ABS) .
