Removal Procedure

If necessary, raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
If necessary, remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

Clean the brake pipe (1) and the fittings (2).

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in Cautions and Notices.

NOTE: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Loosen the brake pipe fittings.
If necessary, remove the brake pipe retainers (3).
If necessary, remove the brake pipe from the brackets.
Remove the brake pipe from the vehicle.
Install caps or plugs to the brake pipes on the vehicle in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
