Removal Procedure

- If necessary, raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- If necessary, remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Clean the brake pipe (1) and the fittings (2).
- Loosen the brake pipe fittings.
- If necessary, remove the brake pipe retainers (3).
- If necessary, remove the brake pipe from the brackets.
- Remove the brake pipe from the vehicle.
- Install caps or plugs to the brake pipes on the vehicle in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
