Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Clean the brake hose (1) and the 2 fittings (3,5).
- Loosen the fitting (3).
- Remove the brake hose retainer (4).
- Remove the brake hose from the brake pipe (2).
- Install a cap or a plug to the brake pipe fitting in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the fitting (5) from the caliper.
- Remove the brake hose from the caliper.
- Remove and discard the brake hose gasket.
- Install a cap or a plug to the caliper in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
