Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Clean the brake hose and the fittings.

  4. Loosen the brake hose to brake pipe fitting.
  5. Remove the brake hose retainer.
    6. CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    NOTE: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Remove the brake hose from the brake pipe.
  7. Install a cap or a plug to the brake pipe fitting in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  8. Remove the bolt (1) from the bracket.
  9. Remove the brake hose from the bracket.

  10. Remove the fitting (2) from the caliper.
  11. Remove the brake hose (1) from the caliper.
  12. Remove and discard the brake hose gasket.
  13. Install a cap or a plug to the caliper in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
