Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Apply Lubriplate® Lubricant, GM P/N 1050109 (Canadian P/N 5264008), or the equivalent, to the metal contact points on the following components:
- The backing plate (1)
- The park brake shoe lever (2)
- The adjuster strut (3)
- The adjuster (4,5,6)
- Assemble the adjuster.
- Install the park brake shoe lever (2) to the park brake cable (1).
- Install the park brake shoe lever (6) and the rear shoe (8).
- Install the pin (2) and the hold-down spring (9) to the rear shoe.
- Install the adjuster (10,11,15) and the adjuster strut (7) to the rear shoe.
- Install the front shoe (17).
- Install the pin (1) and the hold-down spring (16) to the front shoe.
- Connect the adjuster to the front shoe.
- Install the tension spring (1).
- Install the return springs (1,2).
- Install the rear disc. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Rear in Disc Brakes.
- Adjust the park brake. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (Drum Brakes) or Park Brake Adjustment (Disc Brakes) .
